UK: guidance published on data requirements for EPR coming into place from 1 January 2023

The UK has published guidance for companies on the types of data they need to collect from 1 January 2023 in order to comply with new packaging regulations.
The guidance includes detailed examples to explain requirements with respect to the following:
- Packaging activities – how packaging is placed on the market
- Packaging material and weight data
- Packaging levels – primary, secondary, shipment and transit
- Waste type – including whether the packaging is destined for household
UK businesses should prepare for their obligations now. This will include ensuring that they have robust packaging data in place as well as an effective system to manage and report packaging data.
