REACH enforcement project to target suppliers of consumer articles

The aim of the project is to determine the level and reasons for non-compliance and to raise awareness of the obligations. It will target article distributors and producers or importers of articles that are likely to contain Candidate List substances to which consumers may be exposed. This includes producers of electrical products, building materials and interior articles.
The project will also determine whether further actions are required by ECHA, the Commission and/or competent authorities of the Member States to improve compliance and establish enforcement methods for checking these obligations on a larger scale in the future.
The project will run until the end of June 2018 with a report of the results expected by the end of November 2018.
