Further PFAS restrictions proposed in European Union

ECHA has received a proposal from five national authorities to restrict a broad range of PFAS under REACH.
Results of investigations by the national authorities of Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway have indicated that risks in the manufacture, placement on the market and use of PFAS are not adequately controlled and pose a risk to human health and the environment.
ECHA will publish the proposal on 7 February 2023. A review and public consultation will then follow. Companies should prepare for the consultation by reviewing their use of PFAS.
