From 2 600 inspected consumer products available to buy online, over 1 800 contained carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances (CMRs). These substances are only permitted in products for professional use. However, 99 % contained CMRs were available to buy online for consumer use. Other non-compliances were found for phthalates in toys and cadmium in jewellery.

For CLP, 75% of inspected products had information on the hazards of the chemical product in the online advertisement either missing or not clearly visible. Read ECHA report.

Companies should review their compliance management processes and take immediate actions.
