There are over 9,500 business signatories to the UN Global Compact from 145 countries, including 28% of Fortune 500 companies. These signatories have pledged to embed sustainability into core business strategies and operations and build partnerships to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key findings from the report include:
· 70% of companies are reporting publicly.
· Of all the actions in place to address the SDGs, there is higher engagement with Goal 8: Good Jobs and Economic Growth, Goal 3: Good health and Well-Being, and Goal 5: Gender Equality, but lower levels of engagement in Goal 16: Peace and Justice, Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 15: Life on Land and Goal 14: Life Below Water.
· 57% of larger companies cite driving sustainability right through the supply chain this as the main sustainability challenge.
