Two substances added to Prop 65 List

The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has updated the list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.

New substances added on 10 November 2017 are:

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) 1763-23-1

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) 335-67-1

Businesses are required to provide a clear and reasonable warning before knowingly and intentionally exposing anyone to these chemicals one year after being added to the list.

ECHA to provide database of SVHCs in articles

ECHA will establish a new database on the presence of hazardous chemicals in articles by the end of 2019 for waste treatment operators and consumers.
