REACH enforcement to target consumer articles in 2022

The Forum for Exchange of Information on Enforcement has agreed that its major enforcement project for 2022 (REF-10) will focus on consumer products.

Inspectors will check compliance with restrictions and communication obligations under the REACH and POPs Regulations. Specific substances to be covered by these checks will be decided in 2021 and could include phthalates or PFOS.

Inspections will be conducted in 2022 and the report expected at the end of 2023.
