New agreement for private copy levy in Sweden

On the 6th October 2020, Copyswede and the Electronics industry signed a private copying compensation agreement. This new agreement requires importers, manufacturers and retailers to register with and report sales of mobile phones, computers, tablets, game consoles, hard drives and other types of storage media to Copyswede and pay applicable fees.

There are separate agreements: one for importers and manufacturers, and another for retailers. If your company falls into both the importer/manufacturer and the retailer, then both types of agreement will need to be signed. Companies who previously registered with Copyswede, as well as companies who have not previously registered, must complete a new agreement.
