Finland have expanded scope of packaging compliance to include online sales

Revised waste legislation entered into force in Finland in July 2021. From now on also online operators selling products to users in Finland are included in the scope of producer responsibility for packaging. This means they are obliged to participate in funding the collection and recycling of the packaging material that enters Finland through their distance sales.

In Finland adhering to the producer responsibility scheme for packaging is taken care of through Finnish Packaging Recycling RINKI Ltd.
