EU Member State greenhouse gas emission targets published

Regulation 2018/842 sets legally binding greenhouse gas emission reduction targets by EU Member States. The targets aim to meet commitments under the Paris Agreement to reduce EU greenhouse gas emissions by 30% below 2005 levels in 2030.

 

Targets vary significantly between countries. Bulgaria has the lowest target (0%) whereas Luxembourg and Sweden have the highest target (40%). Eleven Member States have a target above 30%.
